About Nadia Rasheed

A Compassionate Counselling Approach

As Founder of Family Connection Counselling, I established this practice to provide a compassionate and reliable experience for individuals seeking mental health support.

As a clinical counsellor, my approach is empathic and non-judgmental, highlighting the significance of the therapeutic relationship in fostering the trust and safety essential for the therapeutic process. I provide counselling services to adults over the age of 18 and offer support in all areas of mental health, with a special interest in stress management, depression, anxiety, grief & loss and the effects of trauma, suicidal ideation and Family Domestic Violence (FDV) on individuals and families. I also support people in life transitions including peri/menopause or recent diagnose of adults with ADHD/ADD and/or ASD.

Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, I draw on a variety of evidence-based theories that guide my practice. They include EFT (Emotional Focused Therapy), Strength-based CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour therapy), EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory and philosophies like Mindfulness and Self-compassion.

I am registered with (PACFA Reg.Clinical 30746) and (ACA Level 4, no. 12558), and adhere to their requirements, standards and guidelines to ensure a safe, client-focused experience.
